Improvements include the excavation and installation of a new 61,000 CF storm detention tank and foundation pad, associated storm piping/catch basins, new structural pads for scrap metal storage, grading improvements to upgrade site drainage and stormwater tie-in to existing Chicago sewer in the right of way. As well as the laying of a 1000-yard concrete pour to accommodate new renovations.

The project involved the integration of a new emission capture and control system designed to improve air quality and operational efficiency, and the installation of a 1,300-square-foot metal shredder. The pre-fabricated structure was installed to meet environmental compliance standards and support sustainable metal processing operations.

]]> The iconic MetLife building underwent a major renovation to breathe new life into the massive lobby and concourse level. A new visitor reception lounge with high-end slatted millwork ceilings and walls was added onto the lobby level as well as new Eastside storefronts. New storefronts were featured beneath the refreshed solid bronze transom panels on the concourse level. All of the center retail stores were removed to create an expansive center passage directly through from 45th street to Grand Central. The interior columns are clad in light travertine and the floors will be finished with epoxy terrazzo to modernize the space. The double height central lobby facing Grand Central features an impressive central vestibule with a striking multicolored Albers Mural above. The updated aesthetic of the lobby extends to the 45th street entrance by continuing the new flooring outside and recladding the exterior columns.

]]> Award-winning renovation of a 17,000 square-foot lobby that creates a spacious, light-filled, and welcoming experience for a 1980s high-rise office building. With nearly six times as much space as the old lobby, it now features a comfortable lounge, a flexible state-of-the-art conference center, a catering kitchen for events, retail spaces and a new courtyard. The roof and building were cut into and structural steel was built back to create the open-air courtyard with new operable glass storefronts creating an indoor/outdoor experience between the lobby and tranquil outdoor space. The renovation also added a secondary pedestrian entryway, which connects to adjacent transit stops.

]]> Renovation of an existing two-story building and vertical expansion to create a new third floor for the world鈥檚 oldest and largest provider of distance learning for people who are blind or visually impaired. The new floor increased the building’s square footage by nearly 25%. Clune constructed a high tech virtual reality room, installed an elevator and accessible restrooms, expanded the boardroom, and added new conference rooms and common areas for collaboration, community outreach and education. Clune also worked around three separate existing structural systems to update the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Exterior work consists of new masonry veneer on the building fa莽ade, new windows and a new roof.
