This confidential client lab project encompasses 22,500 square feet and was executed in two phases. The first phase involved remodeling 11,500 square feet into a state-of-the-art nuclear pharmacy, complete with offices and support space. The second phase transformed 11,000 square feet into a top-of-the-line PET lab, also featuring staff offices and support space. The project scope includes extensive structural steel and concrete renovation, installation of thick mat slabs for heavy medical equipment, construction of clean rooms and upgrades to HVAC and electrical systems to support the new spaces.

US Fertility – Reproductive Science Center

Preconstruction and construction services for the demolition and interior fit-out of an existing space, delivering a fully built-out medical environment. The project included a procedure room, five prep and recovery bays with medical gas outlets, transfer rooms, specialized IVF, andrology and endocrine labs, exam and consultation rooms and cryo storage with piped liquid nitrogen. Extensive MEP upgrades supported the space, including a new generator, AHU, exterior equipment and rooftop exhaust systems.

District Dental Solutions

This 5,000-square-foot project in Washington, DC, involved demolishing the existing structure and constructing a new dental office for District Dental. The work encompassed installing new plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as creating a new reception area, seven exam rooms, a sterilization room, and a scanning room. Additionally, restrooms, a back-of-house pantry and a consultation space were built.

Confidential Simulation Center

This project was a complete revitalization of a Hospital Simulation Center. The 15,000-square-foot build-out includes various training areas where clinical professionals practice problem-solving and gain real world experience responding to situations in their typical environment.

An ambulance simulator, complete with moving hydraulic presses and a realistic lighting and siren system, provides a starting point for each simulated scenario. Students also have access to virtual rooms where they are surrounded by a 360° fully immersive experience, allowing for various types of care. The operating room is fully functional and allows for immediate flow into the mock patient rooms, debrief rooms, and classrooms as directed by the educator.

Additionally, the space features a technical lab where 3D printers are utilized to develop life-like organs used in practice surgeries. iStan technology pairs with the manikins to react as humans would – including functions like bleeding, tears, and EKG rhythm responses.

TEND Dental

This 2,900 square-foot project was a fast-track interior build-out that involved all new finishes, custom millwork, and interior glass partitions. The scope of work for this project included more than thirty concrete core penetrations, and a new PEPCO electrical systems installation. Additionally, the team configured new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems. The project also included custom-feature wallpaper and tile flooring.

Holy Cross Hospital

Gut-level renovation of 12,400 square feet of existing hospice and office wings on the third floor to create new 24-bed Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit. The unit includes a six-bed intensive treatment unit, eight semi-private rooms, and two private rooms. The project also includes a program to support the inpatient rooms, including: toilet rooms, dining area, interview rooms, quiet room, seclusion room, nurse stations, med room, clean room, soiled room, electric IDF (IT), etc. The existing induction wall units received new anti-ligature enclosures, and safety frame and glazing assemblies were installed in front of the existing exterior window with integral blinds between. The occupied floor below consisted of lab space and surgery recovery space and remained occupied throughout the course of construction on the third floor. Access to MEP upgrades were coordinated to follow ICRA policies and procedures.
