]]> The CTX2 Data Center that’s in progress in Houston, Texas is a two‑story, 430,000 SF mission‑critical facility designed to deliver 60MW of total IT capacity across six 12MW data vaults.

The first floor houses all Serverfarm administrative/operational functions, including the main lobby, security room, customer areas, offices, restrooms, shipping and receiving, utility entrances, and MMR/MDF rooms. Included on the first floor are two data halls. The second floor consists of three data halls. These data halls are supported by adjacent mechanical galleries that serve each vault’s critical cooling and electrical systems.

The facility’s roof hosts an elevated equipment platform with perimeter screening, supporting seventy air‑cooled chillers that feed the data vault mechanical systems. Additional mechanical support is provided by twenty‑eight fan coil wall units distributed across two galleries.

The critical power system is organized into multiple identical load groups that are fully stick‑built on site. Each load group includes a 3,000 kVA transformer, a 3,300 kW 480V generator, 4,000A 480V switchgear, dual 1,000 kW UPS modules, and all associated distribution components.

]]> A two phase, 45,000-square-foot future data hall space completed in downtown Atlanta. The phases were completed simultaneously and involved the installation of 29 CRAH units, 24 PDU’s, 96 RPPs, 1 Chiller & Housing, 2.5 MW Generator, a Battery Room, and a complete Electrical Room build-out on top of a newly constructed interior steel platform. Additionally, an overhead conveyance and cage were installed in the space. Building Rip & Replace BMS/Controls scope were completed. The space includes new site operations office spaces and customer care facilities. Modifications to existing steel and new supports for pipe and equipment were made. The installation of future electrical distribution for expansion were completed.

Day one construction included four data halls with electrical and mechanical rooms to support the critical load planned of 44MW. Administration areas will include security, a loading dock, conference rooms, restrooms, and break areas. The building structure is precast concrete, while the data center envelope is insulated precast concrete, and the office envelope is a combination of insulated metal panel and curtain wall.

]]> Development of Prime Data Center’s campus at 1600 E Higgins Rd in Elk Grove, Illinois. This includes the development of three buildings (containing up to approximately 1.03M square-feet in the aggregate) totaling to 275 MW when fully deployed; referred to as ORD-1.

The first data center building (Building A) will be three stories, with approximately 258,074 square-feet built day one followed by an extension to the same building with an additional three stories of approximately 122,087 square-feet totaling approximately 380,141 square-feet. Construction on this building was completed in 2023.  Included in this scope was the initial fit-out of 9MW (Critical IT) infrastructure on the 3rd floor of the shell.

Installation of an additional 6MW of power to the existing live data center. The project consisted of converting existing spare shell space into four new UPS Electrical rooms containing 1.5MW each and redistributing existing/new power to existing data halls. New generator and chiller yards were created with cast-in-place walls containing four generator pads and four chiller pads. The generator yard consists of 4 new 2.5MW Generators, feeding redundant power to the newly built UPS electrical rooms. The chiller yard consists of 4 air cooled chillers providing an additional 500TN cooling capacity per chiller to the existing facility and installation of 8 CRAC units to provide cooling to the UPS Rooms. Slabs within the generator and chiller yard are fiber reinforced concrete, rather than typical steel rebar. In addition, Fiber Reinforced Polymer columns (FRP) were installed in the interior corridors that support 2000’ of cable tray and cable that feeds the existing UPS rooms. Installation of 800 LF of underground ductbank feeders from the generators to each UPS room, installed 12’ below grade.
